Prevention Connections

FACT:

Prevention Connections is committed to the prevention and reduction of tobacco use through education, intervention, policy development and community outreach to improve the health of individuals and communities. Working in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Tobacco Settlement Foundation, Prevention Connections is beginning work on large-scale initiatives such as reducing smoking on college campuses and providing cessation services to parents of young children.	Prevention Connections is pleased to open nominations for our first annual Virginia Youth Advocate of the Year Award! We're looking for outstanding rising high school seniors who are making a difference in youth tobacco-use prevention and reduction. The award includes a $2,500 college scholarship! Nominations must be received by Sept. 4. Congratulations to DAWN BUCHANAN of Richmond, Va., the winner of our First Annual Texas Hold 'Em Charity Tournament!
